    LOVE out loud!

We live in a world where people are afraid to love … don’t get me wrong, I understand that we throw the word LOVE around loosely … 60% divorce rate, rising “out of wedlock”  births, abuse -drugs, sexual, mental; however, false, incorrect LOVE led us down this path, and TRUE love will lead us back to real love.

Trust me … I don’t know everything, but I know love!

    Bush Or Obama – BOTH!

A little over a year ago, Obama walked into the top leadership job in the world - President of  the United States of America!  Many cheered while others frowned, but there was no mistake, this was and still is a BIG DEAL!

A black as president, is & was less gratifying than having a good man as president.  I voted for Reagan, Bush 1 & Bush 2 … I’m a republican by nature, but I supported Obama in 2008,  because I felt our country needed an Obama. Obama represented an opportu nity to approach the process of running this world from a different vantage point, perhaps a more common vantage point, and I sincerely believe if given time, resources and support he’ll leave the office better than he found it.

But don’t get it twisted  – Bush is a good man, and had a chance to be perhaps one of the best presidents ever; however, he ran into some tough situations – 9/11, space shuttle blow up, Irag war which led to a bad economy, Wall Street/ banking issues - death by one cut at a time.  I don’t believe anyone could have navigated through the situation without heavy collateral damages.

Likewise, Obama inherited a mess – let’s not kid ourselves – Obama stepped up to what most people would have run from.  There where a lot of pretenders, but everyone knew that the Office Of President in 2008 was an almost impossible job to succeed at. It amuses me to see Sarah Palin even pretend she could ever do the job -c’mon let’s get real.  There is a woman who could and can do the job – Senator Clinton – do some research Palin vs. Clinton is easy – Ma’dam President Clinton!

So, how will I land this little piece … it’s time for us to be Americans, not democrat or republican, not black or white – just Americans. It will take the best minds in the world to meet the challenges ahead – last time I checked great minds come in all colors, sexes, nationality, etc.  So, let’s cease with the “play” and get to work saving our country, our town, our neighborhood and our families; and let’s do in a “bi – lateral” way that yields positive results around – why can’t it be “win -win”

    Bush or O’bama – I say BOTH!

    I am KINGDOM!

    I’m Over It Now!

There are days that we are so busy trying to be heard, we simply don’t listen, and this causes failure at two crucial levels. As I get older, and if given the choice, I’d rather  listen than be heard – I haven’t always been this way, and I’m certainly not the great listener all of the time, but I’m getting better – praise God!

The song below is one of my favorites … please LISTEN and enjoy!

    The Fierce Urgency Of NOW!

    The Fierce UrgencyOf NOW!!!

The “fierce urgency of now” is what King mentioned back in 1963. But how long is “now”? Every year we cling dearly to the last lines of King’s speech — because of their poetic beauty. King’s words echo those of Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman. I believe he heard America singing.

Our hearts today are too large to simply contain sorrow songs and blues. In 2010, we need to know which side of the record is playing — the dream or the debt. When we celebrate King’s birthday, we shouldn’t just remember and examine one speech. The man, the minister, the prophet is too complex for that. Yet his “I Have a Dream” speech should be understood in its entirety. Next to his speeches, we should place his sermons. Here we will find King’s compassion for his fellow man. Here we will continue to discover words that will provide us with the strength to love.

    Peace & Love!

2010 – Your Best Year Yet!

62 WAYS TO MAKE 2010 YOUR BEST YEAR YET

    1. Remember that leadership isn’t about your position. It’s about your influence.

    2. Get fit like a pro athlete.

    3. Lift people up versus tearing people down.

    4. Protect your good name. An impeccable reputation takes a lifetime to build. And 60 seconds to lose.

    5. Surround yourself with positive, ethical people who are committed to excellence.

    6. Remember that even a 1% daily innovation rate amounts to at least a 100% rate of innovation in 100 days.

    7. Believe in your dreams (even when others laugh at them).

    8. Measure your success, not by your net worth but by your self worth (and how happy you feel).

    9. Take an intelligent risk every 24 hours. No try-No Win.

    10. Read “Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist”.

    11. Watch “Man on Wire”.

    12. Regardless of your title at work, be a team builder.

    13. Remember that business is all about relationships and human connections.

    14. Say “please” more.

    15. Say “thank you” more.

    16. Know your Big 5: the five things that need to happen by the end of this year for you to feel its been your best year yet.

    17. Read your Big 5 every morning while the rest of the world is asleep.

    18. Read “As You Think”. At least twice this year.

    19. Be willing to fail. It’s the price of greatness.

    20. Focus less on making money and more on creating value.

    21. Spend less, save more.

    22. Leave everything you touch better than you found it.

    23. Be the most positive person in every room you’re in.

    24. Run your own race.

    24. Stay true to your deepest values and best ideals.

    25. Write a handwritten thank you note to a customer/friend/loved one every day.

    26. When you travel, send love letters to your kids on hotel stationary. In time, they’ll have a rich collection to remember your travels by.

    27. Read “Atlas Shrugged”.

    28. Be a problem solver versus a trouble maker.

    29. Rather than doing many things at mediocrity do just a few things-but at mastery.

    30. Honor your parents.

    31. Commit to doing great work-whether anyone notices it or not. It’s one of life’s best sources of happiness.

    32. Give more than you receive (another of the truths of happiness).

    33. Have your 1/3/5/10/25 years goals recorded on paper and review them weekly.

    34. Be patient. Slow and steady wins the race. The only reason businesses that went from zero to a billion in a year or two get featured in magazines is because 99% of businesses require a lot more time to win.

    34. Underpromise and then overdeliver.

    35. See part of your job as “a developer of people” (whether you work in the boardroom or the mailroom).

    36. Wear your heart on your sleeve. When people see you’re real, they’ll fall in love with you.

    37. Be authentic versus plastic.

    38. Read “The Alchemist”.

    39. Remember that life wants you to win. So get out of your own way.

    40. Consider that behind every fear lives your next level of growth (and power).

    41. Eat less food.

    42. Drink more water.

    43. Rest when you need to.

    44. Read “SUCCESS” magazine.

    45. Write your eulogy and then live your life backwards.

    46. Demand the best from yourself.

    47. Remember that the more you go to your limits, the more your limits will expand.

    48. See everything that happens to you as an opportunity to grow (and therefore, as a precious gift).

    49. Be obsessed with learning and self-development.

    50. Become comfortable alone (you are the only person you get to be with your whole life).

    51. Smile. It’s a stunningly effective way to win in business and life.

    52. Reflect on the shortness of life.

    53. Be bold when it comes to your dreams but gentle with those you love.

    54. Remember that success is dangerous because it can kill drive/innovation/passion and going the extra mile. Be successful yet stay hungry.

    55. Read “The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin”.

    56. Be of deep value to this world.

    57. Own beautiful things but don’t let them own you.

    58. Use excellent words.

    59. Laugh more.

    60. Don’t complain, gossip or be negative.

    61. Plan as if you’ll live forever but live as if you’ll die tomorrow.

    62. Feel free to pass these lessons on to those you want to help

    Mindset Equals Survival !

    Survival Thru Mindset!

Sometimes though, entrepreneurs start a business because they have to. Maybe it was because they were laid off from their jobs, or even worse, fired. Perhaps their company went out of business and left them out of work, or didn’t pay them enough money. In today’s economy, it is not uncommon to see whole industries collapse when their markets dry up, as we’re seeing with real estate, construction, mortgage lending and automobiles. Many of today’s highly successful companies were started by entrepreneurs and bred from pure necessity, plain and simple.

Entrepreneurship carries with it many rewards and many risks. It is often said that when you are self-employed, you wake up unemployed every morning. But according to Experian, one of the three biggest credit reporting agencies, self-employed entrepreneurs make about 25% more than the general population. Of course when you really consider income differential, you also need to realize that most of the wealthiest men in America made their fortunes as entrepreneurs. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump and Sam Walton are all self-made billionaire entrepreneurs.

But what about the risks? According to Entrepreneur Magazine somewhere between 85 and 94% % of all new business fail within the first 5 years. According to Dr. Gregory B. Murphy, associate dean and director of the MBA program for the College of Business at the University of Southern Indiana, the number of small businesses that close up shop due to severe financial distress such as bankruptcy is more on the order of 30% to 40% but this is still a huge rate of attrition.

Regardless of the risk, according to a study of entrepreneurs conducted by Master Card International, 65% of small business owners would tell a friend to start a business now, rather than wait a year. And according to MSNBC, small businesses are responsible for over 75% of the net new jobs in the economy.

These businesses often start very small called micro businesses and then grow rapidly. The US Census Bureau reports that 49% of the nation’s businesses are run from home, and industry analyst the Dieringer Group places the number of Americans running businesses from home at 45.1 million. Today, more so than ever, it is easy to start such a home-based business. Global search engine giant Yahoo reports that well over 75% percent of adults surveyed online indicated that the Internet directly facilitated the launch of their new business.

Based on all of this, regardless of whether you are or want to be an entrepreneur based on passion or necessity, you also need to consider the risk versus the reward. The potential benefits are vast and unlimited. The major risk is that you have about a 50% chance of failure. But you can get around that by doing some very basic things.

Leaders are not born. They are created. Anyone can become a leader in any area if they want to. (Read OUTLIERS by Malcom Gladwell) You need to set realistic expectations and manage them aggressively and then stick the bleep in there! Success is almost entirely based on determination having the discipline to hang in there even when you feel like quitting 1000 times. Most entrepreneurs fail because they simply give up too soon. Free enterprise is really about the survival of the fittest, where only the strongest survive. The formula is simple figure out what you what and then don’t quit until you have achieved your goals. Period.

    American Dream vs. American Downsizing

Today’s news is filled with doom about the economy and dire predictions about a permanent downsizing of the American Dream. It’s as if our futures have become foretold. To me, this is precisely the time to talk about building wealth.

The mind numbing tidal wave of financial collapse does not have to engulf you. To avoid it, however, you have to have an evacuation plan that leads to higher financial ground, and you have to choose when to put that plan into action. When it comes to wealth building, it always starts with a choice.

I recently heard of man who died at 53. He had been a quadriplegic since being in a car crash when he was 20. Over 300 people crowded the church for his memorial service and hundreds more counted him as a friend. Not just a friend, a good friend.

Confined to a wheelchair, with the use of one arm but not his hands, he had worked at maintaining those friendships, investing time and effort in learning what held meaning for each and every one of them. He had used technology to stay in touch with the world. His friends sought him out for advice. He never betrayed a trust he had earned. And he never complained about his condition. Not a day in his life went by without someone dropping in on him for some quality time.

I call that a wealthy man.

His wealth was not accidental. However you measure wealth, building it involves working towards certain fundamental principles. It turns out this man had always had good friends. After his crash and rehabilitation, he recognized how important they were to him – they were major assets – and he made a choice to work hard at having a wealth of them. He lived off of the joy and love they generated. When he passed, he had outlived his life expectancy by more than 20 years.

We all seem to have a deep down sense of what wealth is. We might agree, for instance, that it contains the passion of our relationships, the intensity of our experiences and all of those things you can take with you. We could also probably agree that wealth includes not only what you earn, but also what you are given and what you learn.
Wealth is not simply the sum of our assets and resources minus our liabilities and debt, it involves the choices we make in how to work with them to generate capital. Strangely enough, wealth only has value if it is used, and it is only worth having if it supplies the capital we need to live a fulfilled life.

One more thing we can probably agree on. While wealth involves more than money, money is likely one of the first things that come to mind when we think about building it.

How, then, do we begin to build wealth? For me, it started with choosing to find out how. That meant making an investment in my self – recognizing that I could use a little help in the form of knowledge – and making a commitment to that process. I pretty quickly discovered that time (a key ingredient for getting anything done) was essential to building wealth – and that I had better use it wisely because, let’s face it, who knows exactly how much time any of us has? (How many of us knew our retirement investments might be sliced in half so quickly, or that our employer might suddenly be considering layoffs?)

So, I sought out experts who could effectively and efficiently teach me fundamental principles of debt elimination, tax reduction, cash flow multiplication, asset protection, investment management and how to live on less than I made.

The decision to transform your American Dream into reality does not need to be triggered by a life-changing event. Choices must be made. Effort and time will be required, but less time than you might imagine. Your inner life will grow as well, and you’ll meet some remarkable people along the way.

    Let’s Dream In 2010!

    I am KINGDOM!

It’s Not About YOU … It Just Involves You!

    It All Starts with God
It’s not about you, it just involves you.
The purpose of your life is far greater than
your own personal fulfillment, your peace of
mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater
than your family, your career, or even your
wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to
know why you were placed on this planet, you
must begin with God. You were born by his
    purpose and for his purpose.
The search for the purpose of life has puzzled
people for thousands of years. That’s because
we typically begin at the wrong starting point—
ourselves. We ask self-centered questions like,
“What do I want to be? What should I do with
my life? What are my goals, my ambitions, my
    dreams for my future?”
But focusing on ourselves will never reveal
our life’s purpose. The Bible says, “It is God
who directs the lives of his creatures; everyone’s
life is in his power.” – Believe That !!!

Contrary to what many popular books,
movies, and seminars tell you, you won’t discover
your life’s meaning by looking within
yourself. You’ve probably tried that already.
You didn’t create yourself, so there is no way
you can tell yourself what you were created for!

    MLM – True Lies !

The lies that limit the future of network marketing began as so many untruths do. They were told initially to bolster up our insecurity — in this case, our industry’s perceived lack of self-esteem. The lies were harmless “little white” (i.e. “okay”) ones, meant to make us seem bigger and better than we really thought we were. As they always do, the lies backfired. Now, when people ask us about this or that “false-fact”, and we have to admit to their fabrication, we come up looking smaller and worse than we are.

What lies am I talking about? These:

    • The Wall Street Journal has said that by the year 2000, 60 to 70 percent of all goods and services will be sold through MLM.
    • “Network marketing is taught at Harvard and Stanford business schools and in numerous other leading colleges and universities throughout the country.
    • Some 20 percent of all the millionaires in America were created through network marketing.
    • John Naisbitt, in his best-selling book, Megatrends, says network marketing is the wave of the future.

There are others. These are the leading offenders. I have yet to speak to any group of people about network marketing — from established MLMers to the general public — and not be asked about one or all of these statements.

And when that happens, here’s what I say:

According to more than a dozen reporters and staffers, The Wall Street Journal never endorsed network marketing or “network marketing methods.”

Yes, they have reported on some companies. But they certainly never said that MLM would be moving 60-plus percent of all U.S. commerce – goods and services — by the year 2000.

    They’re not stupid!

The U.S. sells about $6 trillion plus worth of goods and services per year – give and take ten or twenty billion. By the most aggressive accounts, network marketing (which for the sake of quoting really BIG numbers must include the Direct Selling industry) accounts for $50 billion in annual sales. More conservative estimates put the figure at a max. of $15 to $20 billion worldwide. Super-conservative folks say MLM is about $10 billion really.

Hmmm. One percent of all U.S. goods and services would amount to $55 billion. 50 percent — 10 to 20 percent less than the journal was falsely quoted as saying — would be $3 trillion. Not bad growth for the next six years!

Okay — get out your calculators. This is a lie of the lowest order; not even creative — just stupid.

If someone tried to sponsor you, boastfully claiming he or she made $30,000 per month, and you discovered that he or she really made one percent of that — or $300 — what would you think of that person?

    Enough said.

Network Marketing Sales is not taught at Harvard and Stanford business schools — or in “numerous other leading colleges and universities throughout the country”. Truth is, most of them detest us. They don’t understand us and do not care to. As Harvard ‘B’ School professor Thomas Bonora recently said in an article in Marketing News:

We do not teach such methods [MLM] at the Harvard Business School; they are not part of the curriculum; to my knowledge, they are not taught at this or any other reputable business school in the country . . . Multi-Level Marketing schemes, like chain letters and other devices, sometimes are at the borderline of what is legal — and over the borderline of what is ethical . . .

He concluded by saying that examples of legit MLMs are few and far between. Not a glowing endorsement for such a valuable curriculum.

Harvard has reviewed a case study of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Also, there are courses in “Networking” as it pertains to management resources. That’s it. Stanford refuses to discuss the subject.

Twenty percent of all the millionaires in America were not created through network marketing. By most accounts, as many as 90 percent of them were created through real estate, 90 plus 20 equals 110, and that kind of math would get an F in any school — even Harvard ‘B’. And how many millionaires came from manufacturing or distribution (the family Walton of Walmart — $25 billion plus) . . . ? High-tech . . . (Bill Gates of Microsoft, the richest man in America — and the 300-plus millionaires his company has created . .or Ross Perot)? Franchising (Mrs. Ray Kroc of McDonald’s) . . . ? Entertainment . . . ? Etc. . . . ?

We’ve got lots of men and women who make a million dollars a year in this business. Many more who’ve made $1,000,000-plus in their Networking careers. But . . . 20 percent of all the millionaires in the U.S.? Please, use some common sense.

The only possible reason I can think of as a basis for the existence of this 20 percent figure is that the founders of Amway, Rich Devos and Jay Van Andel, have a combined net worth in excess of $6 billion. That’s 6,000 millionaires right there. Maybe that’s where the 20 percent comes from.

John Naisbitt never mentioned network marketing in Megatrends, Megatrends 2000, Megatrends for Women, or anywhere else for that matter. I can’t even find a mention in back issues of his far more liberal Trend Letter. (If you can, please let me know.) I called him and asked him for his opinion on MLM and he said — well, his people told me — he didn’t have one. There is no listing of network marketing or MLM in any index of a Naisbitt book. The references he makes to Networking are many. The use of them by MLMers are convoluted misquotes and rubbery stretches of the truth.

A good friend of mine — a leading MLM trainer and acknowledged expert who is depended upon by many people as a source of “how-to truth” about this business — recently sent me a generic prospecting product, proudly offering it for listing in our Upline Resources catalog. Sadly, I couldn’t offer it — because it included every one of the above lies.

If this garbage (it’s much nicer to use then the affected French pronunciation) finds its way into this guy’s repertoire, how many others are running around saying this stuff? We’ve got to paper-train this industry!

You can’t build lasting relationships with people — let alone government regulators and the press — with lies. You will be found out — and when you are, your stock, and the stock of the entire industry, will go way down.

The truth is, there is so much that’s positive to be shared about network marketing — facts, not even opinion, much less lies. You may make a sale with a lie, but you won’t create a customer, and you certainly won’t build a successful Network of Distributors.

What you’ll make is a house built on get-rich-quick-sand.

Here’s my request: Please — Do not say false and misleading things about network marketing to anyone. If you are insecure about the legitimacy of this business and feel the need to bolster up your courage and confidence — please shut up ’till you bone up and grow up. . . .

I urge each of you to quash the lies you find out there. Tell the truth. Honesty is and always will be the very best of policies. For my part, I will continue to set the record straight every chance I get. Integrity is our most precious asset. Like our bodies, it requires proper diet (the truth) and exercise (telling it) to become healthy and prosper.
